Managing Folders

Managing Folders includes:

  • Adding a Folder
  • Adding a File
  • Editing a File
  • Zipping a File/Folder
  • Uploading Files
  • Managing Actions
To add a folder:
  1. Log on to hc9 panel.
  2. From the left menu click Hosting Services, and then Manage Websites.
    A drop-down displays.
  3. Click My Websites.
    My Websites page displays.
  4. Under Website Name column, select website then click Properties.
    The Website Properties page displays.
  5. Select Folders & Security tab.
    The Folders & Security options display.
  6. Click Folder Manager.
    The File/Folders Manager page displays.
  7. Under Files/Folders Manager  section on the left, select your required folder.
    The sub folder(s) displays.

    The Listing of Files/Folders section on the right  shows all the existing folders or files under the selected folder.


  8. Click Add New Folder.
    A dialogue box displays.
  9. Type name of the folder and click OK.
    A Folder is added.

To add a file:

  1. Log on to hc9 panel.
  2. From the left menu click Hosting Services, and then Manage Websites.
    A drop-down displays.
  3. Click My Websites.
    My Websites page displays.
  4. Under Website Name column, select website then click Properties.
    The Website Properties page displays.
  5. Select Folders & Security tab.
    The Folders & Security options display.
  6. Click Folder Manager.
    The File/Folders Manager page displays.
  7. Under Files/Folders Manager  section on the left, select your required folder.
    The sub folder(s) displays.

    The Listing of Files/Folders section on the right  shows all the existing folders or files under the selected folder.


  8. Click Add New File.
    A dialogue box displays.
  9. Type name of the file and click OK.
    A File is added.

To zip a file/folder:

  1. Log on to hc9 panel.
  2. From the left menu click Hosting Services, and then Manage Websites.
    A drop-down displays.
  3. Click My Websites.
    My Websites page displays.
  4. Under Website Name column, select website then click Properties.
    The Website Properties page displays.
  5. Select Folders & Security tab.
    The Folders & Security options display.
  6. Click Folder Manager.
    The File/Folders Manager page displays.
  7. Under Files/Folders Manager  section on the left, select your required folder.
    The sub folder(s) displays.

    The Listing of Files/Folders section on the right  shows all the existing folders or files under the selected folder.


  8. Under Zip File/Folder section, type Archive Name.
  9. Select the Also Zip Sub Folders check box to zip sub folders.
  10. Click Zip Selected File/Folder.
    The File/Folder is zipped.

To upload files:

  1. Log on to hc9 panel.
  2. From the left menu click Hosting Services, and then Manage Websites.
    A drop-down displays.
  3. Click My Websites.
    My Websites page displays.
  4. Under Website Name column, select website then click Properties.
    The Website Properties page displays.
  5. Select Folders & Security tab.
    The Folders & Security options display.
  6. Click Folder Manager.
    The File/Folders Manager page displays.
  7. Under Files/Folders Manager  section on the left, select your required folder.
    The sub folder(s) displays.

    The Listing of Files/Folders section on the right  shows all the existing folders or files under the selected folder.


  8. Under Upload Files section, enter Path of files to be uploaded.
  9. Click Upload Files.
    The File(s) are uploaded.

To manage actions:

  1. Log on to hc9 panel.
  2. From the left menu click Hosting Services, and then Manage Websites.
    A drop-down displays.
  3. Click My Websites.
    My Websites page displays.
  4. Under Website Name column, select website then click Properties.
    The Website Properties page displays.
  5. Select Folders & Security tab.
    The Folders & Security options display.
  6. Click Folder Manager.
    The File/Folders Manager page displays.
  7. Under Files/Folders Manager  section on the left, select your required folder.
    The sub folder(s) displays.

    The Listing of Files/Folders section on the right  shows all the existing folders or files under the selected folder.


  8. Under Actions column, click required icon.

       Delete
       Rename
       Edit
       Download
       ACL Permissions

    ACL Permissions are visible only if they are enabled from the Global Settings .

    To manage ACL Permissions:

    1. Click to view the ACL Permissions.
      The View/Set/Remove ACL Permissions page is displayed.
    2. Click required folder.
      The files under that folder are displayed.
    3. Click required name of the file, and then View/Set/Remove Permissions.
      The View/Set/Remove ACL Permissions page is displayed.
    4. Under Users list box, select user.
    5. Under Permissions list box, select permission.
    6. Under Inheritance list box, select level of inheritance.
    7. Click Add/Change.
      The specified permissions are assigned to the selected user.

     




    To edit a file:

    1. Click to edit the required file.
      The Edit file page displays.
    2. Modify the text as required and click Save.
      The file is updated accordingly.
