Redirecting a URL

To redirect a URL:

1. Log on to hc9 panel.
2. From the left menu click Hosting Services, and then Manage Websites.
   A drop-down displays.
3. Click My Websites.
   My Websites page displays.
4. Under Website Name column, select website then Properties.
   The Website Properties page displays.
5. Click URL Redirection to redirect the website to any other URL as required.
   The URL Redirection page displays
6. Select the Enable Redirect URL check box.
7. In Redirect URL, Type URL to which the selected website should be redirected.
   • Redirect client to the exact URL entered above: Select the check box to redirect the selected website to the above URL only.
   • Redirect client to a directory below URL entered above: Select the check box to redirect the selected website to one directory below the specified URL.
     
   • Redirect client to a permanent redirection for this resource: Select the check box to redirect the selected website to the above URL permanently.
     
8. Select the Enable Default Document check box.
9. In Default Document, specify names of the documents in order (comma separated).
   
   

   A default document tells the web server how to behave when it receives a request for site that does not mention a specific page. For example, when a web server receives a request for http://mydomain.com, its display can be automatically set to a document titled as default.htm, followed in order by default.asp, default.html etc., or any other name or type of file as required.



10. Click Save Settings.
    The URL Redirection is enabled.
