Manage DNS

Manage DNS is a sub menu of Hosting Services.

Hosting companies use DNS technology to map domain names into IP addresses. Let's first explore domain names in detail. A domain name can be further sub divided in to three sections such as "Top Level Domain", "Second Level Domain" and "Subdomain". Suppose we have a domain name www.hostingcontroller.com. In this name, '.com' is the top level domain. While 'hostingcontroller' is the second level domain. Whereas the subdomain is 'www'. You can add different subdomain as well such as 'blogs.hostingcontroller.com' or 'kb.hostingcontroller.com'. Now these domain names are only for expediency, otherwise web servers recognize the websites via its IP addresses. The browsers and servers exchange data through websites' IP addresses. Now here comes the DNS technology to translate/swap website domain names in to IP addresses.
