Adding a Windows SharePoint Server
To add a windows sharepoint server:
- Log on to hc9 panel.
- From the left menu click Cluster Configuration, and then Manage Servers.
A drop-down menu displays.
- Click Add Server.
The Add Server page displays.
- Click the Friendly Name arrow and select the required server from the drop-down list box.

The Primary IP Address shows the IP address of the server to be added.

The Operating System shows the platform (Windows/Linux) of the server to be added.

- Under Server Role column, select the SharePoint Server check box.

Every server can have one or more role(s) in the cluster. These roles need to be set every time a new server is added to the cluster.

- Under Role Capacity column, type the number of SharePoint Sites supported by the server.
- Click Next.
The SharePoint Server Configurations page is displayed.
- Specify the General Settings:
- SharePoint Server Type: Click the arrow and select type of SharePoint Server from the drop-down list box.
- Server IP Address: Type IP address of the server.
- Server Port: Type port of the web application.

Specify the Port of web application. In SharePoint, the site collection (SharePoint sites) are created under a web application. You can create this web application using “SharePoint Central Site Administration” Web site.

- Credential User Name: Type user name.

User name should be in the format DOMAIN\USER. Suppose your domain name is HOSTING_CONTROLLER. You can specify user name as: HOSTING_CONTROLLER\JOHN. Its recommended that both SharePoint and SQL Server installations should be made via this DOMAIN\ADMINISTRATOR and it should have appropriate privileges over both SharePoint and SQL. |
- Credential Password: Type password to access the server.
- Confirm Password: Re-type password.
- Web Application Site: Click the arrow and select the site for Web Application from the drop-down list box.

Adding a Web Application in SharePoint, adds a corresponding website in IIS. This website should be selected for this field.

- Web Application URL: Type URL for the Web Application.
- Click Add Server.
A Windows SharePoint Server is added.
