Efflux Migrator

Prepare Sequence

Preparing a mailbox means creating a mail user (also known as mail-enabled user) in the destination environment with the required Active Directory attributes. Efflux enables the creation of these mail-enabled users while migrating.

A typical prepare sequence involves the below sequence of events.

  • Check the existence of mailbox on source Exchange server.
  • Check user presence on target Exchange DC.
  • Check mailbox dependencies on source Exchange. Examples of dependencies can be Send on Behalf, Send As permissions etc. The migration will not move forward if any of the dependencies are missing on the target Exchange and Efflux will display appropriate log events to notify of the missing dependencies.
  • Prepare user on target DC and set appropriate AD attributes that exist on its source counterpart. Efflux will then create the user as a mail enabled user on the target Exchange server.
  • Set appropriate SMTP address.
