Hybrid Control Panel (v10)

Managing Public IP Addresses

HC allows you to assign public IP addresses to virtual machines. You may define a range of public IPs in HC. When creating a virtual machine, HC will pick an IP from this available range and assign it to the virtual machine. First IPs in the range would be assigned first.

To manage public IP addresses, from top right corner of your screen, click and then go to Virtual Module Configuration >> Public IP Addresses.

IP Manager (Public IP Addresses) page shows all the available public IPs and additional information as:

  • IP Address - shows IP address and the associated MAC address.
  • Subnet Mask - shows subnet mask.
  • Gateway - shows Gateway IP.
  • Server - shows name of the server.
  • VM Status - displays the virtual machine to which the IP is assigned. A single IP is assigned to a virtual machine at the time of its creation and is automatically picked from the available addresses. More IPs can be assigned to the machine later from the dashboard. This is only a display column and only displays the virtual machine to which the IP address is assigned.
  • User Status - shows status of the IP address such as free or not.
  • Actions - allow admins to delete the IP address.

Adding a Public IP Address

To add a public IP address, click +Add Public IP Address and specify required information. A range of IPs can be specified here.

  • Select Server: This is the Hyper-V host to which the IPs are to be allocated.
  • MAC Address: Static MAC address can be associated to a Public IP address. Whenever the IP will be assigned to a virtual machine, the MAC address will be assigned along.

  • Linked With VLAN: When enabled, this associates a public IP with the selected VLAN.
  • VLAN Name: Select the VLAN from the dropdown list to which the public IP will be assigned.

Assigning a Public IP Address

Public IPs can be reserved for specific users. Reserved IPs can only be assigned to virtual machines under those specific users. No other user would be able to utilize the reserved IP or IP range. Owner can reserve IPs only for users lying directly under its user hierarchy. For instance an admin can reserve IPs only for Resellers and Clients lying directly under him. It cannot reserve IPs for users lying under one of its Resellers.

To assign a public IP address, click Assign IP Address and specify required information. A range of IPs can be specified here.

Assigned IP addresses are reserved as shown below:
